Dash has been working on this since 2015, when the project took the name Dash, short for “digital cash.” The goal hasn’t changed: make crypto a way to pay on equal terms with fiat.

While other projects chased new narratives, Dash went where people pay in crypto because they need to, not because they’re curious. In Latin America that meant merchant onboarding programmes, eventually reaching Traki, Venezuela’s largest retail chain. Then came wallets for people without an exchange account. Today it’s payment cards and partner networks. Shops in Southeast Asia, Nigeria, Mexico and Brazil accept DASH by QR code, and the merchant is paid in local currency.

Work like this is what turns crypto payments into a normal option. On our side, we’re removing the fee to make paying in Dash easier.
